JANUARY (WELL ACTUALLY DECEMBER) TOOLBOX – MAYLANDS MEANDERING AND SAUSAGE SIZZLE
The Toolbox in this cycle would have been scheduled in early January 2015 which would have been a somewhat inconvenient time for most of us. We therefore resolved to reschedule this toolbox to Saturday 13th December when a small group of us met at the Maylands shipyards. Member Peter Russell kindly obtained agreement from the shipyard for us to have a Christmas sausage sizzle afternoon tea and Peter provided all the necessary cooking equipment and supplies. Thanks Peter for making all these arrangements. The cooking was supreme and the spoils very much enjoyed by those that attended. Following the eating and drinking, we seemed to disburse around the yard in smaller groups to look at the projects. Member Alun Dufty mysteriously appeared (we all thought he was still on tour in Europe) and generously provided a commentary for some of us on the boats around the yard — of particular note, some interesting stories to some of the boats that don’t look like they have been worked on for a while.
